Kia ora!
We are so thrilled to have you join us for our wedding weekend in the United States. In the week prior to the wedding, we welcome you to visit Myrtle Beach to experience our beautiful coastline and favorite family activities.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Myrtle Beach is a coastal city on the East Coast of the United States in South Carolina, where Kendall was born and raised. It is located in the center of a long and continuous 60-mile (97 km) stretch of beach known as "The Grand Strand" in northeastern South Carolina. Myrtle Beach is one of the major centers of tourism in South Carolina and the United States, with miles of family-friendly beaches and over 90 golf courses.
Late October is the end of our hurricane season, with less humidity and temperatures cooling down to around 70ºF/21ºC. October is a favorite month amongst the locals because the tourist season has come to an end, with quiet beaches and excellent weather!
Whether you’re only traveling to Myrtle Beach or if you’re adding other USA destinations to your itinerary, we hope we can help you make the most of your trip to the USA!
Fly To
Myrtle Beach International (MYR)
We recommend flying out of Auckland or Christchurch using Air New Zealand, and booking your USA domestic travel separately.
Los Angeles (LAX) > Dallas (DFW) > Myrtle Beach (MYR)
New York (JFK) > Charlotte (CLT) > Myrtle Beach (MYR)
New York (JFK) *layover or taxi to LaGuardia Airport (LGA) > Myrtle Beach (MYR)
San Francisco (SFO) > Charlotte (CLT) > Myrtle Beach (MYR)
Charleston International Airport (CHS)
Alternatively, you can fly to Charleston and drive ~2 hours to Myrtle Beach. The drive is a straight-shot up the coast through Lowcountry landscapes and beach towns. Charleston is a favorite and very frequented destination for Kendall and Shaun, so it may be worth staying a few nights if your itinerary allows.
Our recommended flight path from New Zealand is:
Air New Zealand/United: Auckland to Houston (HOU) > Houston to Charleston (CHS)

Although we love your little ones, the wedding is an adults-only affair.
